Instagram Subscriptions

The Brief:

Subscriptions is a new feature on Instagram that allows super-fans to subscribe to a creator to access exclusive content. I focused on reworking content around gifting subscriptions: streamlining its flow, driving more excitement, and establishing its language.

  • Establish Subscriptions language, voice, tone

Payment Processing:

I recognized a flow error in payment processing and worked with the product designer to make critical changes.

Value Propositions:

To increase user engagement in gifting subscriptions, I re-approached the value props on the onboarding screen.

Gift Claiming:

After reviewing how users claim their subscription gift, I proposed a redesign to drive more excitement.

Onboarding Survey:

I helped craft the Subscriptions onboarding survey to help determine triggers of the onboarding process.

Preview Screen:

I hopped on to help rewrite the value props of benefits of offering a subscription for creators in order to increase its CTR.

Quick Promos:

I wrote a quick promo to notify creators to create subs content to increase subscriber retention rate.

DMs:

I hopped on to help edit content for sharing exclusive stories within DMs to keep consistency with already shipped content.

Notifications:

After getting feedback that the notification looked like a spam message, I hopped on to help reconstruct the content to make it more relatable.
