Sophia has been working on Ul copy in order to increase growth & adoption of the IG subscriptions product, and so far is on track to receive an offer at the end of the internship. So far, she's completed notification copy and end-to-end copy for sending subscription content in DMs, as well as string descriptions and accessibility labels for both. She's currently working on her larger milestone project, which is the entire flow for gifting subscriptions (value props, payment screens, and confirmation screens). She is about a week ahead of schedule on her projects, and has exceeded project expectations by doing additional Figma redesigns, and assisting the team with ad-hoc needs when I'm not available, such as writing string descriptions when I was out sick.

Sophia has demonstrated product impact by jumping in and writing multiple notification variants and practicing modulating tone and brand voice. She has a solid understanding of our IG content standards and understands how to use various resources to unblock herself independently. When her PD partner was on PTO, Sophia went above and beyond simply rewriting copy by questioning the overall subscription content in DMs flow and redesigning part of the in Figma based on crit feedback. The team may be implementing her redesigns when we ship the feature in H1 2023.

Sophia also has a strong strategic approach to her content work. She asks questions about how copy will fit into design and larger product goals, and proactively identifies when existing experiences (such as subscriptions in DMs) may be confusing to users. Her updated design clarifies the difference between subscribers and non-subscribers, and encourages sending to non-subscribers to improve subscription growth. She is also partnering with me to begin working on documenting content patterns, which will help subscriptions copy scale.

Sophia has been conducting 1:1s with the subscriptions team, including her project peers. She's also building relationships with the other interns on the subscriptions team. She attended our creator monetization CD offsite in NY, and participated actively in our team-building activities as well, and brought a lot of great ideas. Sophia came up with a lot of clear and actionable ideas for other content-led C$ projects despite having very little context, and was able to explain and defend her work beyond what we were expecting of an intern.

Sophia has also built influence on the subscriptions team, and they trust her with copy asks when I'm unavailable and seek out her input on ad-hoc copy needs. She attends all of our subscriptions team meetings and has presented at the subscriptions team bi-weekly to share her project progress. She also has built influence within the IGCD org by attending crits and intern flashes, and regularly presenting her work there and providing feedback for others. Sophia has also demonstrated an excellent understanding of our product priorities, and has been meeting with our PM to understand additional content and growth opportunities for after she completes her milestone project.

Sophia's project peers have recognized her proactiveness in asking the right questions, strong communication and listening skills, and strategic UX-thinking approach to problem solving. They are both excited to continue working with her. Her PD partner highlighted her diligence in exploring a wide variety of copy options, and going above and beyond to suggest design changes that could solve problems holistically rather than simply optimizing strings. Going forward, Sophia can increase her product impact by playing with subscriptions brand voice and tone to push boundaries and encourage and celebrate subscriptions product growth through gifting.

Sophia can also continue to grow her influence on the team by making strategic contributions such as working on content patterns, shaping user research direction, and feeling empowered to drive product direction by sharing her thoughts in meetings. She has strong product instincts, and we can together identify the best places to share those thoughts, be it in chat threads, reviews, meetings, or Workplace groups. The team is excited to hear from her, and we can lean into that!
